JEM A7t Imaging
Musical Magic of the Two-Way
|
|
Like the M7s Reference the A7t equally benefits from the simplicity of the two-way. Timing issues have been futher improved. The system is optimized for close (from 30cm) to medium (50-60cm) proximity to walls and usability in the challenging acoustic environment of the modern living room. For extreme proximity to the backwall the A7t can also be used in closed configuration with a BR plug.

Distortion free on low and high levels
A large chunk of the design focus was aimed at reducing
harmonic (THD) and intermodulation distortions (IMD). Especially the latter being of special interest to two-ways. Multiple technologies have been employed so that the system is capable of unchanged undistorted music at low and higher play levels.
The A7t in particular is designed to outperform any textile dome - paper woofer monitor in the market today. The woofers of these mentioned systems ususally have serious audible limitations such as graininess , mini and micro breakups, cone edge resonance and (mid)low frequency issues. All things the SEAS woofer from the A7t does not have to begin with.

Gentle highs of the textile tweeter
Unlike all other JEM loudspeakers at this moment The A7t features a 25mm textile tweeter with a very gentle and fluid high frequency rendition. It is therefore especially suited for use with analytical equipment such as class D amplifiers . A solid aluminium waveguide reduces extreme off axis radiation patterns in order to prevent floor and ceiling bouncing and therefore enhancing imaging properties.

The A7t has a high quality filter. In key area's the ultra quiet copper foil inductors are used. All other inductors are very stable and low distortion baked aircoils. Instead of one resistor per position it employs arrays of high quality Jantzen resistors. The most important and sound determining are the film-foil capacitors, used in all JEM loudspeakers. Compared to the usual metallized caps used in the industry they enhance clarity and reduce compression. The A7t crossover has a Swiss and a German tinfoil on board. Internal wiring is all longlife silver plated OFC.

Above a variant of the ST70 Zero stand. Designed specifically for the 7-series. It has a minimal frontal surface to avoid any direct reflections from the front of the loudspeaker. In order to retain full imaging performance. It is handmade out of industrial aluminium, solid wood and stainless steel. Height is 70cm and interchangeble carbon feet with M8 fixation. Available in black or aluminium versions. On top there are four rubber pads. When the full weight of the loudspeakers rest on those they become sticky and prevent the cabinet from sliding.

I demonstrate my loudspeakers in an environment where the chance of client judgement error is the lowest. A residential setting; my own living room. Because of this we do require appointments. Perhaps a little inconvenient but you will have an uninterrupted private session plus my full attention. In addition there are demonstration days throughout the year. For the dates see my blog .
